The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 3 minutes, Christiaan Gielens managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KSV Ursene's supporters crossed their fingers, but Christiaan Gielens was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 7th match minute, KSV Ursene was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernest van Elderen to maneuver through the defense. After 15 played minutes KSV Ursene got a freekick which was hit by Christiaan Gielens. In the 15th minute, Johannes Van Laer sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and KSV Ursene's Brent-Jan Van der Roost didn't even have to move. When Ryan Kempenaerts came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Suikerklontjes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ryan Kempenaerts couldn't finish the play. Nils Lambert showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernest van Elderen in the 29th minute of the match. In the 31st minute, Suikerklontjes's Ryan Kempenaerts ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Brent-Jan Van der Roost. Brent-Jan Van der Roost yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. In the 36th minute, Yoachim Hauwaerts got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 37th match minute, KSV Ursene was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jaques Rauvoe to maneuver through the defense. After 41 played minutes Suikerklontjes got a freekick which was hit by Josef Rits. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Ernest van Elderen's late challenge caught a Suikerklontjes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ernest van Elderen helped the player get up and apologised. Mike Armentier hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. If Yoachim Hauwaerts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Suikerklontjes getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Matias Gilis hit a great ball. In the 75th minute, Ryan Kempenaerts ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Brent-Jan Van der Roost was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bart Van de Velde during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Suikerklontjes getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Bart Van de Velde hit a great ball. 79 minutes into the match, Ernest van Elderen notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Suikerklontjes's Nils Lambert. Nils Lambert was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ryan Kempenaerts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johannes Van Laer in the 94th minute of play forced KSV Ursene's goalkeeper Brent-Jan Van der Roost to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bart Van de Velde scored 4-1 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Brent-Jan Van der Roost, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
