Ray Van Leemput made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Cristo Deprez hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. In the 39th minute, Bruno Cortens made a precise shot to the right of Ray Van Leemput. Elite Red Devils's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Evert Gustafsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Scorpions United's supporters rose to their feet, but Evert Gustafsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ray Van Leemput breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bruno Cortens made a kick off. Ray Van Leemput made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. Ray Van Leemput stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bruno Cortens's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evert Gustafsson in the 71st minute of play forced Elite Red Devils's goalkeeper Ray Van Leemput to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ray Van Leemput made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Cortens in the 74th minute of play. Evert Gustafsson took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ray Van Leemput. Ray Van Leemput dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-0. After a rather tough play, Scorpions United's Klaus Geeraerts got a free kick in the 78th minute. When Bartjan Van Daelen came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Scorpions United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bartjan Van Daelen couldn't finish the play. In the 85th minute, Ants Laanemets hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. For all the effort they put into the match, the Elite Red Devils players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Scorpions United.
