Rein Bautmans was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Dani Rojas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of La Selección booed when FC Ouagadougou National was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sean Westelinx didn't get a good kick on the ball. 14 minutes into the match, La Selección's goal looked a bit too open when Dani Rojas came free, but Rein Bautmans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of FC Ouagadougou National booed when La Selección was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martin De Smedt didn't get a good kick on the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Abdulla Baia notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of La Selección's Rein Bautmans. Rein Bautmans was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 24 minutes, Abdulla Baia made it 0-4 with a short kick to the right side. La Selección's Rein Bautmans tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. George Descamps kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Rein Bautmans stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Abdulla Baia's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. In the 33rd minute, one of La Selección:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for La Selección. Rein Bautmans dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-8.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fred Smidts to make the kick off. Abdulla Baia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Rein Bautmans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rein Bautmans stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Abdulla Baia's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. After a defensive mix-up in La Selección's zone, Dani Rojas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rein Bautmans came out of the goal and Dani Rojas tried to chip the ball over his head. In the 66th minute, one of La Selección:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for La Selección. FC Ouagadougou National's Juan Santi was substituted for Abdulla Baia. Rene Vereijt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Augustijn Custermans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 77 minutes into the match, Juan Santi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rein Bautmans. La Selección's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Juan Santi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-12. Rein Bautmans was a little too slow when Juan Santi got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 80th minute. The score was now 0-13. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rein Bautmans prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some careless play in the La Selección defense, Juan Santi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rein Bautmans. The La Selección fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rein Bautmans should have stopped the shot. After 93 minutes, Juan Santi made it 0-15 with a short kick to the right side. La Selección's Rein Bautmans tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When the final whistle sounded FC Ouagadougou National left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than La Selección.
