In the 15th minute, Clemens Wilmann got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Clemens Wilmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan-Peter Baston having to interfere. Steffen Jancker acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 23rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Dominik Schrappe. Michael Malliouris's late challenge caught a Turnitz FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Turnitz FC's goalkeeper Jan-Peter Baston, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jan-Peter Baston showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robert Giese, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Niclas Kastener during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The tension between the Turnitz FC and the Wernhies 08 players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Turnitz FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 45th minute. Penalty! Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Robin Mauer to strike the kick off in the second half. Wernhies 08's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Turnitz FC the free kick. When Michael Malliouris was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 64 minutes had been played. Wernhies 08's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance.
