The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee ignored Santa Coloma FC's protests and gave Lenny Singleton a yellow card for diving instead. Lenny Singleton hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. When Eric Duffield fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Westcliff on Sea's protests and gave Eric Duffield a yellow card for diving instead. Eric Duffield kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. In the 5th minute, Jermaine Laycock got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. During the 9th minute of the match Lenny Singleton completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Lenny Singleton a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 12th minute, Jake Fleetham hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 18th minute, Ty Digby ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Charles Corbridge was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After 23 minutes, Louie Scargill made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Santa Coloma FC's Charles Corbridge tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 26th minute, Louie Scargill made a precise shot to the right of Charles Corbridge. Santa Coloma FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. If Mattias Stone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Santa Coloma FC defense, Louie Scargill kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Charles Corbridge. The Santa Coloma FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Charles Corbridge should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Louie Scargill managed to get in a good position for a shot. Westcliff on Sea's supporters rose to their feet, but Louie Scargill was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Charles Corbridge breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ty Digby struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Charles Corbridge didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Westcliff on Sea. Louie Scargill sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Louie Scargill in the 47th minute of play forced Santa Coloma FC's goalkeeper Charles Corbridge to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Westcliff on Sea were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Mattias Stone made the kick off in the second half. Ty Digby's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Charles Corbridge read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. Charles Corbridge was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Sandro Recife showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-6 in the 55 minute of play. After 60 played minutes Santa Coloma FC got a freekick which was hit by Frankie Crocker. 70 minutes into the match, Westcliff on Sea's goal looked a bit too open when Dion Maskell came free, but Kasey Roebuck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mattias Stone in the 71st minute of play forced Westcliff on Sea's goalkeeper Kasey Roebuck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 74 minutes into the match, Santa Coloma FC's goalkeeper Charles Corbridge had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ty Digby. Ty Digby might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Charles Corbridge. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ty Digby ran back to his position shaking his head. Louie Scargill struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Charles Corbridge didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Westcliff on Sea. Ty Digby's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 77thth minute, Charles Corbridge skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Charles Corbridge showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Louie Scargill, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. After having played for 81 minutes, Ty Digby managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Westcliff on Sea's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ty Digby was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Louie Scargill in the 85th minute of play forced Santa Coloma FC's goalkeeper Charles Corbridge to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 88 minutes into the match, Ty Digby had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Charles Corbridge. Santa Coloma FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ty Digby was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-7. The Santa Coloma FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Westcliff on Sea were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
