Ron Briant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Santa Coloma. Patrick Wild received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Ron Briant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 9th minute, Walter Silk made a precise shot to the right of Ron Briant. Lancing AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Walter Silk managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Santa Coloma's supporters rose to their feet, but Walter Silk was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ron Briant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, FC Santa Coloma's Mark Hardwick got a free kick in the 18th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ray Hales in the 19th minute of play forced FC Santa Coloma's goalkeeper Toby Wiltshire to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Pierce Armstrong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in FC Santa Coloma's zone, Ray Hales stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Toby Wiltshire came out of the goal and Ray Hales tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 33 played minutes Ray Hales rounded FC Santa Coloma's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. FC Santa Coloma's Walter Silk got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Walter Silk blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ron Briant having to make a save. 43 minutes into the match, FC Santa Coloma's goalkeeper Toby Wiltshire had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pierce Armstrong. In the 46th minute, FC Santa Coloma's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ray Hales fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Ray Hales's late challenge caught a FC Santa Coloma's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ray Hales helped the player get up and apologised. Ray Hales hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Ray Hales scored 2-2 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Toby Wiltshire, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 60 minutes, Ray Bostock mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Santa Coloma and the Lancing AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 60 played minutes FC Santa Coloma got a freekick which was hit by Ray Bostock. After 61 played minutes, Lancing AFC's Sonny Haskell shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Toby Wiltshire came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lancing AFC reached it. Fitz Gray's late challenge caught a FC Santa Coloma's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. FC Santa Coloma's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patrick Wild was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ronan Titmus got his second yellow card in the match during the 78th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Ronan Titmus hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. A collision led to Lancing AFC getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Fitz Gray hit a great ball. Ron Briant acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 84th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Glenn Worrall. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
