In the 8th play minute Stewart Endean came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Warren Ford. 2-0. When Harry Blake came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Stamford United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Harry Blake couldn't finish the play. Ruben Bridge fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Warren Ford having to interfere. After 17 played minutes Stewart Endean rounded Morpeth's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 3-0. In the 21st minute Ralph Gough shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nathan Pringle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 22nd minute Philip Bird shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nathan Pringle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kris Grainger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Warren Ford tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 29 played minutes Stamford United got a freekick which was hit by Nathan Woodcock. In the 30th minute of the match Ralph Gough shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nathan Pringle showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Morpeth's goalkeeper Warren Ford, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Stamford United's Kris Grainger slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Warren Ford. That made the score 4-0 after 34 minutes of play. When Stamford United's Stewart Endean in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Morpeth's goalie prevented a goal. 41 minutes had been played when some careless play by Morpeth's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Stewart Endean was slow to take the kick. During this time Stamford United's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Stewart Endean almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Morpeth's Warren Ford did a great save. If Ruben Bridge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Stewart Endean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Stewart Endean to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Johnathon Smith got free with Nathan Pringle in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 53rd minute, Ralph Gough hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Harry Blake took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Warren Ford. Warren Ford dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Morpeth's Warren Ford played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harry Blake in the 57th minute of play. In the 58th match minute, Morpeth was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ralph Gough to maneuver through the defense. Stamford United's Ruben Bridge got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kris Grainger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Warren Ford having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stewart Endean in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Warren Ford saved Morpeth from getting behind. Warren Ford showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kris Grainger in the 68th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stewart Endean in the 72nd minute of play forced Morpeth's goalkeeper Warren Ford to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nathan Woodcock charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nathan Woodcock the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Stamford United's Nathan Woodcock got a free kick in the 74th minute. After some careless play in the Morpeth defense, Stewart Endean kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Warren Ford. The Morpeth fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Warren Ford should have stopped the shot. After having played for 87 minutes, Stewart Endean managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stamford United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stewart Endean was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Stewart Endean's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Warren Ford was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stewart Endean in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Warren Ford saved Morpeth from getting behind. Stamford United's Nathan Pringle proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Stamford United from getting a goal against them. 98 minutes into the match, Ruben Bridge notched a goal, 7-0, to the right of Morpeth's Warren Ford. Warren Ford was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Stamford United had played much better football throughout.
