In the 11th minute, one of Racing Club Canillo:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Racing Club Canillo. 13 minutes into the match, Man Tas notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Racing Club Canillo's Zak Foggarty. Zak Foggarty was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 15 minutes of play, Valencia C.F.'s Joe Herring made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zak Foggarty was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 17th minute Al Capone shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zak Foggarty saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joe Herring's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zak Foggarty read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. 21 minutes had been played when some careless play by Racing Club Canillo's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Man Tas was slow to take the kick. During this time Valencia C.F.'s players had a chance to rest. Valencia C.F.'s Man Tas was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Zak Foggarty in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Zenon Cisek took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Jerry Lodge to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joe Herring in the 44th minute of play forced Racing Club Canillo's goalkeeper Zak Foggarty to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Man Tas hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Racing Club Canillo made a substitution. Nicky Floyd replaced Ray Milburn. Racing Club Canillo's Ambrosio Boni was substituted for Goren Baños. The supporters of Racing Club Canillo booed when Valencia C.F. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Man Tas didn't get a good kick on the ball.

With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zak Foggarty prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Zenon Cisek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valencia C.F.'s Ronan Mullen was substituted for Man Tas. If Zenon Cisek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. Zak Foggarty was out of position in the 95 minute of play, and Joe Herring capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Joe Herring really showed his touch with that goal: 1-7. Valencia C.F. played a much better game than Racing Club Canillo and deserved their victory. The Racing Club Canillo players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
