Dean Dube sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Heavenly Giants booed when Pretoria City FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leon Thompson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Heavenly Giants's zone, Von Denton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bartlomiej Bojanowski came out of the goal and Von Denton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Frankie Goff had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 47 minutes into the match, Heavenly Giants's goal looked a bit too open when Dean Dube came free, but Bartlomiej Bojanowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Pretoria City FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Steve Smith to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th match minute, Heavenly Giants was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Themba Mathibe to maneuver through the defense. Pretoria City FC's Frankie Goff got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. But to his dismay, Dean Dube quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. After 73 played minutes Heavenly Giants got a freekick which was hit by Tomas Thabang. Pretoria City FC made a substitution. Gerrie Elshot replaced Patrice Ngake. Pretoria City FC's Yacoob Ntsume got his second yellow card of the match in the 76th minute. Pretoria City FC played a much better game than Heavenly Giants and deserved their victory. The Heavenly Giants players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
