The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Lindo Radebe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Timothy Madiya in the 5th minute of play. After 8 played minutes FC Monsterlus got a freekick which was hit by Andre Collins. 9 minutes in the game, Timothy Madiya fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Lindo Radebe having to interfere. Lindo Radebe stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Timothy Madiya's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. After 11 played minutes Blue Birds FC got a freekick which was hit by Jonas Shongwe. In the 16th minute, FC Monsterlus's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Shakeel Bandura fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Michael Madiba stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Andre Collins's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. Shakeel Bandura succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 22nd playminute. Michael Madiba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Kerns, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 35th minute Timothy Madiya shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lindo Radebe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Michael Madiba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Kerns in the 44th minute of the match. With a little luck, FC Monsterlus's Lindo Radebe got control of the ball when Shakeel Bandura tried to sneak it across the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Tomas Kerns made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, FC Monsterlus's Tomas Kerns got a free kick in the 55th minute. A collision led to FC Monsterlus getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Thami Wanani hit a great ball. Lindo Radebe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Timothy Madiya in the 59th minute of play. When Sizwe Pretorius fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Monsterlus's protests and gave Sizwe Pretorius a yellow card for diving instead. Sizwe Pretorius hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. 62 minutes into the match, Timothy Madiya had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lindo Radebe. FC Monsterlus's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Timothy Madiya was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. If Timothy Madiya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 74 minutes into the match, Blue Birds FC's Shakeel Bandura sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lindo Radebe narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, FC Monsterlus's Milton Mhlathe got a free kick in the 74th minute. Blue Birds FC's Shakeel Bandura got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 78 minutes into the game, Timothy Madiya cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Lindo Radebe was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Blue Birds FC's zone, Andre Collins stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Michael Madiba came out of the goal and Andre Collins tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match clock showed 86 minutes, the score became 5-1 when Shakeel Bandura sped through FC Monsterlus's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lindo Radebe. After a rather tough play, FC Monsterlus's Bernard Sewele got a free kick in the 90th minute. In the 93rdth minute of the game Timothy Madiya who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Monsterlus's Lindo Radebe was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Blue Birds FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
