Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Jonas Manyethela started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Raymond Kubheka sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 10 minutes, Raymond Kubheka managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC KuLombombo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raymond Kubheka was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Raymond Kubheka scored 0-1 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nkosi Machete, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Grasshoppers FC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Johannes Smith hit a great ball. Sipho Thompson made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Elias Tshabalala sent off a good shot on target. If Jonas Manyethela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elias Tshabalala received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Sipho Thompson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 31st minute, Elias Tshabalala got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With his leg Sipho Thompson managed to avoid a goal in the 34thth minute, when Grasshoppers FC's Elias Tshabalala fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Grasshoppers FC's Elias Tshabalala got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sipho Thompson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jonas Manyethela's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. Sipho Thompson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Elias Tshabalala in the 38th minute. FC KuLombombo's Sipho Thompson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save FC KuLombombo from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, FC KuLombombo's Sipho Thompson got control of the ball when Elias Tshabalala tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 47th minute Jonas Manyethela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sipho Thompson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Mpho Mkhonza kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. The supporters of Grasshoppers FC booed when FC KuLombombo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mpho Mkhonza didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 57th minute of the match David Lekgwathi shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sipho Thompson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elias Tshabalala in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sipho Thompson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Elias Tshabalala blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sipho Thompson having to make a save. Sipho Thompson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jonas Manyethela's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. After 74th play minutes Raymond Kubheka shot 2-2, a short shot which went by Nkosi Machete and just under the crossbar into goal. After a defensive mix-up in FC KuLombombo's zone, Jonas Manyethela stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sipho Thompson came out of the goal and Jonas Manyethela tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonas Manyethela struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Sipho Thompson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grasshoppers FC. In the 84thth minute of the game Jonas Manyethela who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC KuLombombo's Sipho Thompson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sipho Thompson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonas Manyethela in the 91st minute of the match. Jonas Manyethela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Elias Tshabalala's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sipho Thompson was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. Elias Tshabalala received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Sipho Thompson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Grasshoppers FC had played much better football throughout.
