Ajax Amsterdam's supporters crossed their fingers, but Melusi Mokhasi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Melusi Mokhasi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Melusi Mokhasi managed to get in a good position for a shot. In the 26th minute, Darren Bartlett got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 35 minutes into the match, Ajax Amsterdam's goal looked a bit too open when Darren Bartlett came free, but Henry Modipa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ajax Amsterdam's Jafta Nauseb got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Godfrey Madima recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Darren Bartlett was the one to do the kick off. Nicolas Koen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henry Modipa having to interfere. After having played for 81 minutes, Jafta Nauseb managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ajax Amsterdam's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jafta Nauseb was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 86th match minute, Walker Knights was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francis Etafia to maneuver through the defense. If Jafta Nauseb had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jomo Mathibe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Melusi Mokhasi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
