Tebogo Komani's late challenge caught a PICOLO's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tebogo Komani helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of PICOLO booed when FC KuLombombo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tebogo Komani didn't get a good kick on the ball. Basil Konza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sipho Thompson having to interfere. Basil Konza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Sipho Thompson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC KuLombombo's Sipho Thompson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save FC KuLombombo from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raymond Kubheka in the 27th minute of play forced PICOLO's goalkeeper Jason Thompson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, PICOLO's Solly Magakula got a free kick in the 32nd minute. 34 minutes into the game, Charles Mhlathe was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. PICOLO's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC KuLombombo the free kick. After 34 played minutes PICOLO got a freekick which was hit by Charles Mhlathe. After a defensive mix-up in FC KuLombombo's zone, Solly Magakula stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sipho Thompson came out of the goal and Solly Magakula tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jason Thompson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Musa Modipa in the 43rd minute of the match. Hanile Smith charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hanile Smith the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, PICOLO's Solly Magakula got a free kick in the 48th minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Musa Modipa made a kick off. Jason Thompson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Musa Modipa, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After 57 played minutes PICOLO got a freekick which was hit by Solly Magakula. Jocob Laher took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 58th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jason Thompson. PICOLO's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 59 played minutes PICOLO got a freekick which was hit by Charles Mhlathe. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basil Konza in the 67th minute of play forced FC KuLombombo's goalkeeper Sipho Thompson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When PICOLO's Yacoob Klein in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC KuLombombo's goalie prevented a goal. Raymond Kubheka received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Sipho Thompson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yacoob Klein in the 74th minute of play. In the 75th match minute, FC KuLombombo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mpho Mkhonza to maneuver through the defense. Sipho Thompson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yacoob Klein, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Musa Modipa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jason Thompson came out and tried to block the shot, but Musa Modipa slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 80th minute. 84 minutes into the match, FC KuLombombo's goal looked a bit too open when Yacoob Klein came free, but Sipho Thompson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 86 minutes into the game, Musa Modipa recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jason Thompson. Musa Modipa showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. A collision led to PICOLO getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Simamane Vanker hit a great ball. The FC KuLombombo supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FC KuLombombo would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
