Spectators: 6944 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1944, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Aubrey Webb kicked off to start the match. Henry Modipa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aubrey Webb in the 11th minute of the match. Joseph Nkadimeng recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Ajax Amsterdam booed when FC YamYam was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. William Steyn didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Aubrey Webb had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 24 minutes into the match, Joseph Nkadimeng notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Ajax Amsterdam's Henry Modipa. Henry Modipa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a little luck, FC YamYam's Godfrey Mabalane got control of the ball when Jafta Nauseb tried to sneak it across the goal line. Johannes Mhlongo kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. A collision led to FC YamYam getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Johannes Mhlongo hit a great ball. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC YamYam's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Allan Mhlongo was slow to take the kick. During this time Ajax Amsterdam's players had a chance to rest. 41 minutes into the match, FC YamYam's goal looked a bit too open when Melusi Mokhasi came free, but Godfrey Mabalane reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Godfrey Mabalane made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Melusi Mokhasi in the 54th minute of play. Jafta Nauseb received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Godfrey Mabalane tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joseph Nkadimeng struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Henry Modipa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC YamYam. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Shaheed Qabi during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. FC YamYam's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rob Mahlangu in the 67th minute. FC YamYam's Rob Mahlangu was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Henry Modipa in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Jafta Nauseb sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Melusi Mokhasi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Godfrey Mabalane was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. After 73 minutes, Nazeer Liau mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC YamYam and the Ajax Amsterdam players grew even worse after the yellow card. The FC YamYam supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FC YamYam would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
