In the 18th minute Nicholas Sibeko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hanile Kekana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20thth minute of the game Nicholas Mncube who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mcotsho's Gösta Haström was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Mcotsho's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jaak Taelma in the 26th minute. Roadside's Hanile Kekana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicholas Sibeko in the 34th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Allan Koen in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gösta Haström saved Mcotsho from getting behind. In the 40th minute, Allan Koen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 46th minute, Mthunzi Madima ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hanile Kekana was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nicholas Sibeko to make the kick off. In the 69th minute of the match Jaak Taelma shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hanile Kekana showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Roadside's goalkeeper Hanile Kekana, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nicholas Mncube could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Gösta Haström made a huge save. Gösta Haström was out of position in the 78 minute of play, and Allan Koen capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Allan Koen really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. After some careless play in the Roadside defense, Nicholas Sibeko kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hanile Kekana. The Roadside fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hanile Kekana should have stopped the shot. Allan Koen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gösta Haström read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Roadside players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Mcotsho.
