Spectators: 7386 (Terracing: 5541, Seating: 1698, VIP seats: 147) Mugurel Oprișan started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind POLITEHNICA IASI's goalkeeper Tiberiu Lupescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Eric Birișu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Tiberiu Lupescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eric Birișu in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tiberiu Lupescu saved POLITEHNICA IASI from getting behind. In the 15th minute, Panait Croitoru hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 17th minute Remus Coșmeanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tiberiu Lupescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eric Birișu in the 20th minute of play forced POLITEHNICA IASI's goalkeeper Tiberiu Lupescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tiberiu Lupescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manole Bungescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 27 minutes into the match, Fc Sighet Alexandra's goal looked a bit too open when Mugurel Oprișan came free, but Sebastian Codrea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Panait Croitoru took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Sebastian Codrea to make any attempt to save it. In the 32nd minute, Mugurel Oprișan reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sebastian Codrea. The goal made the score 2-0. If Iulian Sărăroiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Leonard Jivulescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fc Sighet Alexandra's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonard Jivulescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tiberiu Lupescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Fc Sighet Alexandra getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Iulian Sărăroiu hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eric Birișu to strike the kick off in the second half. Iacob Nediu charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Iacob Nediu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 52 played minutes Fc Sighet Alexandra got a freekick which was hit by Iacob Nediu. In the 54th minute Eric Birișu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tiberiu Lupescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 56 minutes into the game, Manole Bungescu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Tiberiu Lupescu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Manole Bungescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Eric Birișu might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tiberiu Lupescu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eric Birișu ran back to his position shaking his head. Iulian Sărăroiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiberiu Lupescu having to interfere. The supporters of Fc Sighet Alexandra booed when POLITEHNICA IASI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexandru Corbuț didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 80th minute, Eric Birișu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in POLITEHNICA IASI's zone, Cristian Tirulescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tiberiu Lupescu came out of the goal and Cristian Tirulescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 86th minute Eric Birișu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tiberiu Lupescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 87th match minute, Fc Sighet Alexandra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iacob Nediu to maneuver through the defense. Fc Sighet Alexandra's Sebastian Codrea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristinel Cudalb in the 88th minute of play. Tiberiu Lupescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonard Jivulescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 90thth minute of the game Eric Birișu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but POLITEHNICA IASI's Tiberiu Lupescu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Vlad Malcocea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With his leg Tiberiu Lupescu managed to avoid a goal in the 93rdth minute, when Fc Sighet Alexandra's Eric Birișu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Tiberiu Lupescu made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Manole Bungescu sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of POLITEHNICA IASI booed when Fc Sighet Alexandra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iulian Sărăroiu didn't get a good kick on the ball.
