David Ghionaru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 8 minutes, Gabriel Costea mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Empire Club Recea and the Rimetea FCM players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Rimetea FCM booed when Empire Club Recea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabriel Costea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Răzvan Onete struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. David Ghionaru didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rimetea FCM. After a rather tough play, Empire Club Recea's Nicu Buzatu got a free kick in the 13th minute. In the 20th minute, Ionel Sârbu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Răzvan Onete sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rimetea FCM's Nechifor Prislop played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriel Costea in the 27th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Empire Club Recea's zone, Ionel Sârbu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Ghionaru came out of the goal and Ionel Sârbu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 37th minute Nicu Buzatu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nechifor Prislop saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Răzvan Onete in the 41st minute of play forced Empire Club Recea's goalkeeper David Ghionaru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 45 minutes into the match, Rimetea FCM's goal looked a bit too open when Teodor Badea came free, but Nechifor Prislop reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ionel Sârbu made a kick off. Nechifor Prislop showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabriel Costea in the 51st minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Gabriel Costea kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Nechifor Prislop. That made the score 0-1 in the 51 minute of play. Nechifor Prislop made an important save on a dangerous shot by Teodor Badea in the 55th minute. Rimetea FCM's Nechifor Prislop proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Rimetea FCM from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice moves Teodor Badea could shoot a difficult shot in the 67th minute, which Nechifor Prislop however easily saved by the left post. After a rather tough play, Rimetea FCM's Codruț Hârtopanu got a free kick in the 69th minute. Rimetea FCM's Nechifor Prislop played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriel Costea in the 72nd minute of play. 72 minutes into the game, Codruț Hârtopanu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rimetea FCM's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Empire Club Recea the free kick. Codruț Hârtopanu hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. After 74 played minutes Empire Club Recea got a freekick which was hit by Nicu Buzatu. Empire Club Recea's Gabriel Costea got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Rimetea FCM's Nechifor Prislop got control of the ball when Nicu Buzatu tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 83rd minute, Răzvan Onete left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rimetea FCM fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Ionel Sârbu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. But to his dismay, Teodor Badea quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. The Rimetea FCM supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Empire Club Recea's performance. The match ended with a win for Empire Club Recea.
