Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Anton Hârțan started the match with the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mircea Ciolac during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Mircea Ciolac hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anton Hârțan in the 10th minute of play forced CS U Craiova's goalkeeper Ovidiu Trifănucă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leonard Schiau lost his temper 12 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The supporters of Geaca AC booed when CS U Craiova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonard Schiau didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 17th minute, Marius Constantinescu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Geaca AC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. With an all-out effort, Geaca AC's Ovidiu Trifănucă threw himself towards the right post 23 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Anton Hârțan, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Geaca AC's goalkeeper Mihăiţă Neagoe, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 28 minutes into the game, CS U Craiova's Romeo Murgu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mihăiţă Neagoe made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Ovidiu Trifănucă made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marius Constantinescu in the 32nd minute. With a little luck, CS U Craiova's Ovidiu Trifănucă got control of the ball when Marius Constantinescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 34th minute of the match Dinu Văcărescu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ovidiu Trifănucă showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Geaca AC's Anton Hârțan slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ovidiu Trifănucă. That made the score 2-1 after 37 minutes of play. Marius Constantinescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Ovidiu Trifănucă tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 48th minute Anton Hârțan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ovidiu Trifănucă saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Romeo Murgu made a kick off. Ovidiu Trifănucă came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Geaca AC's Marius Constantinescu. But to his dismay, Marius Constantinescu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Ovidiu Trifănucă made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marius Constantinescu in the 62nd minute of play. Ovidiu Trifănucă stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marius Constantinescu's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. After 67 played minutes CS U Craiova got a freekick which was hit by Pavel Filipoiu. After some careless play in the CS U Craiova defense, Anton Hârțan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ovidiu Trifănucă. The CS U Craiova fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ovidiu Trifănucă should have stopped the shot. 80 minutes into the match, CS U Craiova's goal looked a bit too open when Anton Hârțan came free, but Ovidiu Trifănucă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 83 minutes into the match, Geaca AC's Anton Hârțan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ovidiu Trifănucă narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ovidiu Trifănucă didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marius Constantinescu went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-1 was the resulting score. A collision led to Geaca AC getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Cristian Budulea hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marius Constantinescu in the 96th minute of play forced CS U Craiova's goalkeeper Ovidiu Trifănucă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Geaca AC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
