The supporters of Steaua Bucuresti booed when FC FLAVI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Avram Caba didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute, Horea Gafița ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Iacob Ghimpu was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. In the 27thth minute of the game Teodor Jupân who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Steaua Bucuresti's Sabin Andronache was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 28 minutes into the game, Mugur Brânzaru was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC FLAVI's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Steaua Bucuresti the free kick. Mugur Brânzaru kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Marcu Răduț fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iacob Ghimpu having to interfere. 45 minutes into the match, FC FLAVI's goal looked a bit too open when Sabin Feraru came free, but Iacob Ghimpu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Sabin Feraru scored 2-0 in the 51st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Iacob Ghimpu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 61st minute Avram Caba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sabin Andronache saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to FC FLAVI getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Mădălin Siteavu hit a great ball. Ştefan Apopei's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 67thth minute, Sabin Andronache skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Marcu Răduț received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Iacob Ghimpu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
