Empire Club Recea's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Coenraad Ooijer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Mihail Boc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonard Şuţu in the 23rd minute of play. Rune Olofsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emile Baker's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. After 26 minutes, Emile Baker made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Empire Club Recea's Rune Olofsson tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 28th match minute, Empire Club Recea was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horia Negulescu to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Empire Club Recea's zone, Mugur Barbonța stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rune Olofsson came out of the goal and Mugur Barbonța tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rune Olofsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emile Baker's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. When Coenraad Ooijer came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Girciu CSS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Coenraad Ooijer couldn't finish the play. Rune Olofsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emile Baker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The throw-in from Leszek Liberko in the 35th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Girciu CSS's Tudor Mălăncioiu. 37 minutes into the game, Marin Cosâmbescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Girciu CSS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Empire Club Recea the free kick. In the 37th match minute, Girciu CSS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marin Cosâmbescu to maneuver through the defense. With his leg Mihail Boc managed to avoid a goal in the 39thth minute, when Empire Club Recea's Emanuel Tunaru fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 40 minutes, Emile Baker mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Girciu CSS and the Empire Club Recea players grew even worse after the yellow card. Emile Baker kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. In the 43rd minute, Horia Negulescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leonard Şuţu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Mihail Boc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leonard Şuţu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rune Olofsson made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Coenraad Ooijer sent off a good shot on target.
