Catalusa's Costel Trifan managed to work through UFC RAPID's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Costel Trifan dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Costin Claudiescu to make the kick off. Ştefan Ciutacu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugen Brănescu having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Costin Claudiescu in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eugen Brănescu saved Catalusa from getting behind. 68 minutes into the match, UFC RAPID's Costică Pantea sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eugen Brănescu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 74 minutes into the match, Costin Claudiescu notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Catalusa's Eugen Brănescu. Eugen Brănescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience was convinced that Costin Claudiescu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eugen Brănescu was relentless in the 77th minute of the game.
