Spectators: 6710 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1710, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Gavril Bobariu took the kick off in the first half of the match. PETROLUL's Dinu Busuioceanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Popovici in the 3rd minute of play. 5 minutes into the game, Dan Loghin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. PETROLUL's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Turbatul the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by C.J. El Abidine Ben Ali in the 9th minute of play forced Turbatul's goalkeeper Marcel Avram to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hector Goiz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Marcel Avram stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hector Goiz's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Marcel Avram came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by PETROLUL's Hector Goiz. But to his dismay, Hector Goiz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 24 minutes into the match, Turbatul's goal looked a bit too open when Hector Goiz came free, but Marcel Avram reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dinu Busuioceanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gavril Bobariu in the 26th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Turbatul's zone, Hector Goiz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcel Avram came out of the goal and Hector Goiz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. C.J. El Abidine Ben Ali sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Hector Goiz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcel Avram was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hector Goiz in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcel Avram saved Turbatul from getting behind. In the 37th minute, C.J. El Abidine Ben Ali got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gelu Roşoga's late challenge caught a Turbatul's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gelu Roşoga helped the player get up and apologised. With a little luck, PETROLUL's Dinu Busuioceanu got control of the ball when Petruț Minda tried to sneak it across the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hector Goiz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. PETROLUL's Hector Goiz got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marcel Avram made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hector Goiz in the 56th minute of play. Dinu Busuioceanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gavril Bobariu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 60 minutes into the game, Hector Goiz recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marcel Avram. Hector Goiz showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. Marcel Avram showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hector Goiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. The supporters of PETROLUL booed when Turbatul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horia Buhuș didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcel Avram made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliodor Huțupan in the 87th minute of play. In the 91st minute of the match Gelu Roşoga shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcel Avram showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Hector Goiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. PETROLUL played a much better game than Turbatul and deserved their victory. The Turbatul players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
