Fikret Balcıoğlu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mihai Enoaia in the 3rd minute of the match. Nicu Bârsan was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 5 minutes into the match. Nicu Bârsan hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. After 7 played minutes, ACS Poli Timisoara's Adam Macaneață shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fikret Balcıoğlu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in ACS Poli Timisoara reached it. Fikret Balcıoğlu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Doru Urducea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 12 minutes into the match, Doru Urducea had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fikret Balcıoğlu. URB BARLAD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Doru Urducea was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. With his leg Tudor Acalinei managed to avoid a goal in the 15thth minute, when URB BARLAD's Mugur Galiceanu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Costin Stejaru could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Tudor Acalinei made a huge save. 25 minutes into the game, Ivan Măgurean was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ACS Poli Timisoara's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave URB BARLAD the free kick. 27 minutes into the match, URB BARLAD's goal looked a bit too open when Mihai Enoaia came free, but Fikret Balcıoğlu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to URB BARLAD getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Romarinho Silva hit a great ball. Iustin Iacobescu hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. In the 38th minute, Costin Stejaru fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Tudor Acalinei, passed just outside the right post. With a little luck, ACS Poli Timisoara's Tudor Acalinei got control of the ball when Mugur Galiceanu tried to sneak it across the goal line. ACS Poli Timisoara's defense didn't have a chance, in the 40th minute, when Costin Stejaru scored to the left of an out of position Tudor Acalinei, making the score, 1-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mihai Enoaia to make the kick off. A collision led to ACS Poli Timisoara getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Horea Drăgoescu hit a great ball. In the 68thth minute of the game Mugur Galiceanu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ACS Poli Timisoara's Tudor Acalinei was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Mugur Galiceanu took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tudor Acalinei. Tudor Acalinei dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Horea Drăgoescu kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Mugur Galiceanu took the ball and in the 77 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tudor Acalinei. Tudor Acalinei dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. After having played for 81 minutes, Mugur Galiceanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. URB BARLAD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mugur Galiceanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fikret Balcıoğlu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ivan Măgurean in the 87th minute. After 92 played minutes ACS Poli Timisoara got a freekick which was hit by Horea Drăgoescu. URB BARLAD's Fikret Balcıoğlu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horea Drăgoescu in the 96th minute of play. In the 98th minute the ball was on its way in behind ACS Poli Timisoara's goalkeeper Tudor Acalinei, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. URB BARLAD had played much better football throughout.
