Danesti's Pompiliu Filipașcu got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cazimir Lopatnicu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Constantin Pavel took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 30th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Codruț Nae. Danesti's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Luca Mandache fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Codruț Nae having to interfere. In the 35th minute, Iustin Ungheanu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Codruț Nae. The goal made the score 1-0. Codruț Nae showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cazimir Lopatnicu in the 38th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pompiliu Filipașcu during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Danesti's zone, Grigore Preda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Codruț Nae came out of the goal and Grigore Preda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Grigore Preda made a kick off. In the 53rd minute Grigore Preda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Codruț Nae saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Grigore Preda's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Codruț Nae was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. Pompiliu Filipașcu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nistor Ipătescu having to interfere. Codruț Nae took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luca Mandache, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Danesti's Codruț Nae played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luca Mandache in the 72nd minute of play. Nistor Ipătescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Molodețiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Pompiliu Filipașcu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Grigore Preda in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Codruț Nae prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Iustin Ungheanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Codruț Nae having to interfere. 83 minutes into the match, Danesti's Pompiliu Filipașcu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nistor Ipătescu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Grigore Preda in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Codruț Nae saved Danesti from getting behind. If Cazimir Lopatnicu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Grigore Preda's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Codruț Nae read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. After some careless play in the Danesti defense, Grigore Preda kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Codruț Nae. The Danesti fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Codruț Nae should have stopped the shot.
