Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Doru Moisescu started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After 5 played minutes CSMS Iasi got a freekick which was hit by Filip Zbagan. Talp's Petru Oprița got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luca Atanasiu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Irinel Hăulică made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dacian Brânzaru in the 18th minute of play. Dacian Brânzaru blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Irinel Hăulică having to make a save. In the 26th minute Ion Filipoiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valentin Manea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 27 minutes into the game, Luca Atanasiu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Valentin Manea was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 30 minutes, Luca Atanasiu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Talp's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luca Atanasiu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Stelian Nicorici charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Stelian Nicorici the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of CSMS Iasi booed when Talp was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stelian Nicorici didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luca Atanasiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind CSMS Iasi's goalkeeper Valentin Manea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice moves Luca Atanasiu could shoot a difficult shot in the 41st minute, which Valentin Manea however easily saved by the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Luca Atanasiu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Talp's supporters rose to their feet, but Luca Atanasiu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valentin Manea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Costel Cojan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valentin Manea having to interfere. 47 minutes into the game, CSMS Iasi's Dacian Brânzaru nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Irinel Hăulică made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ion Filipoiu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dinu Dobre charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After a rather tough play, Talp's Eduard Cartiș got a free kick in the 57th minute. An unexpected shot in the 59th minute by Doru Moisescu got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 62nd minute of the match, Doru Moisescu tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Irinel Hăulică saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The supporters of Talp booed when CSMS Iasi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dinu Dobre didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Dacian Brânzaru came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the CSMS Iasi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dacian Brânzaru couldn't finish the play. Valentin Manea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ion Filipoiu's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. Valentin Manea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ion Filipoiu in the 75th minute of play. After 77 played minutes CSMS Iasi got a freekick which was hit by Gigel Feraru. In the 78th minute of the match Petru Oprița sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Valentin Manea skillfully saved the ball. Luca Atanasiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valentin Manea having to interfere. If Ion Filipoiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ion Filipoiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Valentin Manea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Irinel Hăulică took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Doru Moisescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ion Filipoiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd minute Ion Filipoiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valentin Manea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Talp were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
