Ciprian Zdrenghea came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by BATALIONUL 20 -STEAUA-'s Marcu Flamaropol. But to his dismay, Marcu Flamaropol quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Ciprian Zdrenghea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gigi Teodorescu in the 8th minute of the match. After 11 played minutes BATALIONUL 20 -STEAUA- got a freekick which was hit by Edgar Donose. In the 13th match minute, BATALIONUL 20 -STEAUA- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcu Flamaropol to maneuver through the defense. Gigi Teodorescu struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Ciprian Zdrenghea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for BATALIONUL 20 -STEAUA-. In the 18th minute, Nicu Abraham left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hummel fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The BATALIONUL 20 -STEAUA- fans' excitement grew in the 23rd match minute when BATALIONUL 20 -STEAUA-'s Gigi Teodorescu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a rather tough play, Hummel's Dacian Stătescu got a free kick in the 26th minute. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hummel's goalkeeper Ciprian Zdrenghea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hummel's Ciprian Zdrenghea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gigi Teodorescu in the 41st minute of play. A collision led to Hummel getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Vali Huidu hit a great ball. In the game's 46th minute BATALIONUL 20 -STEAUA-'s Ionel Răica took a hard shot from long distance, a kick which went into the net just to the right of Ciprian Zdrenghea and thus the score was 1-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nicu Abraham to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in BATALIONUL 20 -STEAUA-'s zone, Nicu Abraham stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eugen Chiuzbaian came out of the goal and Nicu Abraham tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ciprian Zdrenghea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gigi Teodorescu in the 56th minute. Mihai Lozovan kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. If Edgar Donose had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Cezar Schiau came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the BATALIONUL 20 -STEAUA- fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cezar Schiau couldn't finish the play. Gigi Teodorescu's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 67thth minute, Ciprian Zdrenghea skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When Gigi Teodorescu fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored BATALIONUL 20 -STEAUA-'s protests and gave Gigi Teodorescu a yellow card for diving instead. 75 minutes into the match, Hummel's goal looked a bit too open when Marcu Flamaropol came free, but Ciprian Zdrenghea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emilian Simionaş hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Ciprian Zdrenghea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcu Flamaropol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 88 minutes, Nicu Abraham managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hummel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nicu Abraham was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched BATALIONUL 20 -STEAUA- eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
