After a rather tough play, Poju's Mugurel Bolborici got a free kick in the 18th minute. Emilian Pantiș fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Grigore Lăcătuș having to interfere. Sandrde's Calistrat Capătă played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valer Feraru in the 94th minute of play. In the 97th minute, one of Poju:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Poju. Mihăiţă Moisescu walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Sandrde's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
