Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Remus Ponta made the kick off which started today's match. The crowd rose to their feet as Remus Ponta kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dinu Murgan. That made the score 1-0 in the 3 minute of play. After 6 played minutes Borsanii got a freekick which was hit by Iustinian Băieșu. 9 minutes into the match, Laza's Iulian Vârjean sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Paul Dărmănescu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Remus Ponta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dinu Murgan having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Borsanii's Tiberiu Rușanu got a free kick in the 14th minute. Andrei Crușeveanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Șerban Voica struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Paul Dărmănescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Laza. Andrei Crușeveanu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Dinu Murgan made a huge save. 32 minutes into the game, Remus Ponta recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dinu Murgan. Remus Ponta showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. In the 35th match minute, Borsanii was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiberiu Rușanu to maneuver through the defense. Iulian Vârjean fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paul Dărmănescu having to interfere. Vlad Stoian charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vlad Stoian the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Borsanii booed when Laza was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vlad Stoian didn't get a good kick on the ball. Iulian Vârjean sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 44 played minutes Borsanii got a freekick which was hit by Panait Şoiman. When Șerban Voica came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Laza fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Șerban Voica couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Șerban Voica to strike the kick off in the second half. Iulian Vârjean took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Paul Dărmănescu. Paul Dărmănescu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Dinu Murgan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrei Crușeveanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Remus Ponta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Dinu Murgan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Iulian Vârjean sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Borsanii getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Marius Patrichi hit a great ball. 71 minutes into the match, Borsanii's Andrei Crușeveanu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dinu Murgan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A hard shot by Vlad Stoian from long distance, 72 minutes into the match, got Paul Dărmănescu's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 79th match minute, Laza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcel Ciomag to maneuver through the defense. Remus Ponta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Laza's zone, Remus Ponta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dinu Murgan came out of the goal and Remus Ponta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Iulian Vârjean received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Paul Dărmănescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Borsanii fans cheered their team off the field, for while Laza had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
