But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that George Furdui couldn't finish the play. Gheorghe Homescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vasile Jurăscu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vasile Jurăscu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gheorghe Homescu having to interfere. Valentin Curteanu's late challenge caught a FC Nicseni - BTF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Valentin Curteanu helped the player get up and apologised. After a defensive mix-up in FC Nicseni - BTF's zone, Vasile Jurăscu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gheorghe Homescu came out of the goal and Vasile Jurăscu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Horea Pescaru made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eusebiu Oanță in the 22nd minute. In the 28th minute, Ionică Oroian hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FC Nicseni - BTF's Gheorghe Homescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by George Furdui in the 34th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vasile Jurăscu in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gheorghe Homescu saved FC Nicseni - BTF from getting behind. Eusebiu Oanță's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Horea Pescaru read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. Avram Neculce recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After some careless play in the Rapiduletu defense, Avram Neculce kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Horea Pescaru. The Rapiduletu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Horea Pescaru should have stopped the shot. If Vasile Jurăscu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gheorghe Homescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by George Furdui in the 60th minute. Eduard Lupoi charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eduard Lupoi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 66th match minute, FC Nicseni - BTF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eduard Lupoi to maneuver through the defense. Gheorghe Homescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. George Furduis short, quick shot in the 85thth minute got Gheorghe Homescu to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a rather tough play, FC Nicseni - BTF's Flavius Abrudan got a free kick in the 86th minute. After 92 played minutes Rapiduletu got a freekick which was hit by Gabriel Melinescu. In the 94th minute Avram Neculce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horea Pescaru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC Nicseni - BTF's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
