With a little luck, Arsache's George Hăulică got control of the ball when Florin Nicodim tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Florin Nicodim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ştefan Iordănescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Hăulică having to interfere. If Doru Filimon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. George Hăulică made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ştefan Iordănescu in the 23rd minute of play. The supporters of Arsache booed when Cojani CS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicu Cârneci didn't get a good kick on the ball. Doru Filimon blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Iulian Codru having to make a save. After 36 minutes, Maxim Berbec mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Arsache and the Cojani CS players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 36th match minute, Arsache was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maxim Berbec to maneuver through the defense. Leonard Soare, 37 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. George Hăulică was a little too slow when Ştefan Iordănescu got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 41st minute. The score was now 1-0. After 45 minutes, Doru Filimon made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Cojani CS's Iulian Codru tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ştefan Iordănescu made a kick off. After 59 minutes, Narcis Dărmănescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cojani CS and the Arsache players grew even worse after the yellow card. Narcis Dărmănescu kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. A collision led to Arsache getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. George Cioiu hit a great ball. Aurelian Tudose could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Iulian Codru made a huge save. After 67 played minutes Cojani CS got a freekick which was hit by Nicu Cârneci. When Doru Filimon, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 69 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Iulian Codru was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Doru Filimon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iulian Codru having to interfere. Doru Filimon received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Iulian Codru came out and tried to block the shot, but Doru Filimon slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 77th minute. Iulian Codru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Doru Filimon in the 80th minute of play. After 81 played minutes Cojani CS got a freekick which was hit by Ştefan Iordănescu. In the 83rd minute, Aurelian Tudose made a precise shot to the right of Iulian Codru. Cojani CS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Doru Filimon in the 95th minute of play forced Cojani CS's goalkeeper Iulian Codru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th minute, Doru Filimon made a precise shot to the right of Iulian Codru. Cojani CS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. The Cojani CS supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Arsache's performance. The match ended with a win for Arsache.
