In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Nicseni - BTF's goalkeeper Gheorghe Homescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Horia Gârniceanu might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gheorghe Homescu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Horia Gârniceanu ran back to his position shaking his head. When Martin Câmpeanu came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Gorunesti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Martin Câmpeanu couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Corneliu Poplăcean in the 15th minute of play forced FC Nicseni - BTF's goalkeeper Gheorghe Homescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 24 minutes, Eusebiu Oanță managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Nicseni - BTF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eusebiu Oanță was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Martin Câmpeanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 38 minutes into the match, Gorunesti's goal looked a bit too open when Avram Neculce came free, but Cristinel Oravițan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gorunesti's Cristinel Oravițan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusebiu Oanță in the 43rd minute of play. If Martin Câmpeanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Martin Câmpeanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Gheorghe Homescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Martin Câmpeanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Horia Gârniceanu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gheorghe Homescu was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. In the 68th minute, Martin Câmpeanu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Horia Gârniceanu in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gheorghe Homescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Martin Câmpeanu in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gheorghe Homescu saved FC Nicseni - BTF from getting behind. After 73 played minutes FC Nicseni - BTF got a freekick which was hit by Flavius Abrudan. 74 minutes into the match, Martin Câmpeanu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gheorghe Homescu. FC Nicseni - BTF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Martin Câmpeanu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Avram Neculce in the 79th minute of play forced Gorunesti's goalkeeper Cristinel Oravițan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86th minute Martin Câmpeanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gheorghe Homescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gheorghe Homescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martin Câmpeanu in the 87th minute of the match. A collision led to FC Nicseni - BTF getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Eduard Lupoi hit a great ball. Gorunesti walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
