Radu Istrate showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alex Oneț, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Codruț Bran hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Cristi Paraschiv received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Radu Istrate tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 2-4.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for David Ispirescu to strike the kick off in the second half. The Radu Istrate was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 69 minutes into the match, Colonia CS's Radu Dan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Radu Istrate narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 75 minutes into the game, Ion Ioanițiu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Colonia CS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave gcg the free kick. Mădălin Tatu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Constantin Avacariței in the 79th minute of the match. Cristi Paraschiv's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Radu Istrate firmly grabbed it by the left post. When the match was over Colonia CS could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than gcg throughout the match.
