In the 5th minute Olimpiu Elian suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. 5 minutes into the game, Liviu Mitulescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Real Brasov's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Otomani the free kick. Otomani's Cazimir Moga was substituted for Olimpiu Elian. In the 6th minute, Liviu Mitulescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eugen Novăceanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Gabriel Mirciulescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cosmin Dinescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 11thth minute of the game Mugur Albuț who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Real Brasov's Gabriel Mirciulescu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in FC Real Brasov's zone, Mugur Albuț stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gabriel Mirciulescu came out of the goal and Mugur Albuț tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 17th minute, Mugur Albuț got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Adam Teodor came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Real Brasov's Codruț Lobonț. But to his dismay, Codruț Lobonț quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 23rdth minute of the game Mugur Albuț who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Real Brasov's Gabriel Mirciulescu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Liviu Mitulescu was shown his second yellow card after 26 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 26th minute, Liviu Mitulescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adam Teodor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Doloman in the 28th minute of play. Adam Teodor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victor Doloman in the 29th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 31 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Mugur Albuț sped through FC Real Brasov's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gabriel Mirciulescu. When Codruț Lobonț fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Real Brasov's protests and gave Codruț Lobonț a yellow card for diving instead. 37 minutes into the match, FC Real Brasov's goal looked a bit too open when Eugen Novăceanu came free, but Gabriel Mirciulescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to FC Real Brasov getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Nistor Dumitrache hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Otomani's Ioan Nicolcioiu got a free kick in the 38th minute. FC Real Brasov's Gabriel Mirciulescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save FC Real Brasov from getting a goal against them. Mugur Albuț struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Gabriel Mirciulescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Otomani. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Alex Troncotă managed to get in a good position for a shot. Otomani's supporters rose to their feet, but Alex Troncotă was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gabriel Mirciulescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alex Troncotă blasted a shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gabriel Mirciulescu having to make a save. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

FC Real Brasov's Gabriel Mirciulescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eugen Novăceanu in the 54th minute of play. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Real Brasov's goalkeeper Gabriel Mirciulescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 62nd minute of the match Ioan Nicolcioiu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gabriel Mirciulescu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Codruț Lobonț was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 64 minutes had been played. In the 64th match minute, FC Real Brasov was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Codruț Lobonț to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to FC Real Brasov getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Ivan Busuioc hit a great ball. Otomani's Cazimir Moga couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 71st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for FC Real Brasov. 76 minutes into the match, Mugur Albuț notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of FC Real Brasov's Gabriel Mirciulescu. Gabriel Mirciulescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gabriel Mirciulescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alex Troncotă in the 79th minute of the match. Mugur Albuț scored 3-1 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gabriel Mirciulescu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cosmin Dinescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabriel Mirciulescu having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Otomani had played much better football throughout.
