Spectators: 7499 (Terracing: 5625, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 149) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Maxim Nae made the kick off which started today's match. 6 minutes into the game, FC ZALAU's Maxim Nae nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Paul Poplăcan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Toader Capătă sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maxim Nae received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Paul Poplăcan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 22 minutes FC ZALAU's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Iulian Ghiondea who took care of the corner kick. It was a well-played corner which Valeriu Rotariu managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. In the 25th minute, FC Carlsberg's Laurențiu Panaitescu ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nechifor Cinteză. Nechifor Cinteză yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. 28 minutes into the match, FC Carlsberg's goal looked a bit too open when Maxim Nae came free, but Paul Poplăcan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Laurențiu Panaitescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. FC ZALAU's defense didn't have a chance, in the 37th minute, when Mihnea Aldea scored to the left of an out of position Nechifor Cinteză, making the score, 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mihnea Aldea stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. FC Carlsberg's Laurențiu Panaitescu got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Horaţiu Tolea hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC ZALAU's goalkeeper Nechifor Cinteză, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 60 minutes, Maxim Nae managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC ZALAU's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maxim Nae was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 64thth minute of the game Mihnea Aldea who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC ZALAU's Nechifor Cinteză was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Flavius Ducu kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Laurențiu Panaitescu might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nechifor Cinteză. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Laurențiu Panaitescu ran back to his position shaking his head. 71 minutes into the match, FC ZALAU's goal looked a bit too open when Mihnea Aldea came free, but Nechifor Cinteză reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Horaţiu Tolea hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. FC Carlsberg's Laurențiu Panaitescu got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to FC ZALAU getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Gică Alamaru hit a great ball. If Toader Capătă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC ZALAU's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
