After a defensive mix-up in Republica Ploiești's zone, Remus Muraru stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Horia Filipașcu came out of the goal and Remus Muraru tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Denis Butuc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mihai Bălțăteanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mihai Bălțăteanu struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Denis Butuc didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Republica Ploiești. 43 minutes into the match, Republica Ploiești's Virgil Teodorescu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Denis Butuc narrowly saved just below the crossbar.

In the 51st minute, Alexandru Găină hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in doctoreanu fc's zone, Virgil Teodorescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Denis Butuc came out of the goal and Virgil Teodorescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Felix Siniştean hit a great ball. 81 minutes in the game, Mihai Bălțăteanu fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Denis Butuc having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Virgil Teodorescu got free with Denis Butuc in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to doctoreanu fc getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Remus Gogea hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mihai Bălțăteanu in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Denis Butuc prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Felix Siniştean was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 95 minutes had been played. In the 96th minute, Felix Siniştean hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 98th minute Republica Ploiești were awarded a corner. Leontin Petrulean went to the cornerflag to take it. Republica Ploiești's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
