After having played for 16 minutes, David Cristoloveanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vladestii's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Cristoloveanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cristi Chindriș scored 0-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cornel Botea, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 25th minute, Cristi Chindriș got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Toader Brăescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cornel Beșliu was a little too slow when David Cristoloveanu got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 30th minute. The score was now 1-1. Ionică Obreja took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cornel Botea. Cornel Botea dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Cristi Chindriș recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 45th minute Valentin Jurcuț shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cornel Botea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 47 minutes, Valentin Jurcuț mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Păsări Roșii and the Vladestii players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Păsări Roșii getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Valentin Jurcuț hit a great ball. Toader Brăescus short, quick shot in the 49thth minute got Cornel Beșliu to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ionică Obreja was the one to do the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Păsări Roșii's Ionică Obreja slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Cornel Botea. That made the score 1-3 after 53 minutes of play. Ionică Obreja received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Cornel Botea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Păsări Roșii's Cornel Beșliu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Cristoloveanu in the 62nd minute of play. After 64 played minutes Vladestii got a freekick which was hit by Codruț Perișoară. With a little luck, Vladestii's Cornel Botea got control of the ball when Cristi Chindriș tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 67 played minutes Vladestii got a freekick which was hit by Alex Ştati. In the 70th minute Ionică Obreja shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cornel Botea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Toader Brăescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Cornel Beșliu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. David Cristoloveanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cornel Beșliu having to interfere. If David Cristoloveanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 78th minute, Vladestii's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Cristi Chindriș fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Cristi Chindriș had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 83 minutes into the game, Cristi Chindriș cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Cornel Botea was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 90 minutes into the game, Alex Ştati was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vladestii's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Păsări Roșii the free kick. In the 90th minute, Alex Ştati hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ionică Obreja fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cornel Botea having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Păsări Roșii walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
