Victor Chirtoacă's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Octavian Ispir read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, Ghighiu AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Răzvan Bulă came free, but Octavian Ispir reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marin Cristian fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sergiu Macamete having to interfere. Sergiu Macamete was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nicu Roşca during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Ghighiu AFC's Nicu Roşca got a free kick in the 40th minute. Ionuț Lupșoiu was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 41st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 43rd minute, Vlad Şiman made a precise shot to the right of Octavian Ispir. Ghighiu AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 46th minute, Marcu Barbosu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

Ghighiu AFC's Octavian Ispir played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Răzvan Bulă in the 71st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Ghighiu AFC's Marcu Barbosu got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Răzvan Bulă sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cătălin Cămătaru ran back to his position shaking his head. Sergiu Macamete made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marin Cristian in the 89th minute. In the 93rd minute, Răzvan Bulă left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Dunarea CSU Galati fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Dunarea CSU Galati had played much better football throughout.
