Rapid 1923's protests and gave Pompiliu Marin a yellow card for diving instead. In the 16th minute of the match Francisc Mutu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alexandru Grădinaru showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 18 minutes into the match, Fc. Rapid 1923's goalkeeper Alexandru Grădinaru had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fabian Butnaru. Narcis Ispas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sever Honcioiu in the 20th minute of play. Alexandru Grădinaru made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fabian Filip in the 23rd minute. 24 minutes into the match, Stelian Şuplăcan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Narcis Ispas. CsMotru's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stelian Şuplăcan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Nechifor Iorgu charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nechifor Iorgu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Nechifor Iorgu hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Fabian Butnaru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandru Grădinaru having to interfere. After having played for 46 minutes, Fabian Butnaru managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CsMotru's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabian Butnaru was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fabian Filip could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Alexandru Grădinaru made a huge save. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Fabian Butnaru made the kick off in the second half. Narcis Ispas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sever Honcioiu went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Alexandru Grădinaru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabian Butnaru in the 70th minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Fc. Rapid 1923 fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 77th minute. Penalty! 82 minutes into the match, Nichifor Crivac had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alexandru Grădinaru. Fc. Alexandru Grădinaru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabian Butnaru in the 89th minute of the match. Fabian Butnaru received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Alexandru Grădinaru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. CsMotru were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
