The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Damian Dumitrachescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Florin Goșa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fabian Butnaru came free with the goalkeeper in the 38th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Florin Goșa could save by the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Damian Dumitrachescu in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Florin Goșa saved Bolintin United from getting behind. Damian Dumitrachescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florin Goșa having to interfere. When Damian Dumitrachescu came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the CsMotru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Damian Dumitrachescu couldn't finish the play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
Bolintin United's Florin Goșa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabian Butnaru in the 52nd minute of play. Viorel Bârsan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Lucian Amurăriței had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bolintin United's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.
