Rapid 1923's Sever Honcioiu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cazimir Panaiteanu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 33rd minute, Sever Gorgan fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Alexandru Grădinaru, passed just outside the right post. If Sever Gorgan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alexandru Grădinaru made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Eliodor Jecu sent off a good shot on target. Sever Honcioiu scored 0-2 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cazimir Panaiteanu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 42nd minute, Stelian Şuplăcan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 44 minutes into the match, Sever Honcioiu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cazimir Panaiteanu. STEAUA86's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sever Honcioiu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Rapid 1923's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave STEAUA86 the free kick. Calistrat Răchitan kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sever Honcioiu got free with Cazimir Panaiteanu in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 71 minutes into the match, STEAUA86's goalkeeper Cazimir Panaiteanu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sever Honcioiu. After a rather tough play, STEAUA86's Vasile Iftode got a free kick in the 74th minute. When Sever Honcioiu came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Fc. Rapid 1923 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sever Honcioiu couldn't finish the play.
