Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Liviu Cornea started the match with the kick off. Traian Nițisor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viorel Stamatiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Viorel Stamatiu kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. 14 minutes into the match, Ponoreni SC's goal looked a bit too open when Liviu Cornea came free, but Nichifor Adomniței reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16th minute Mihai Isopescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Traian Nițisor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 21 minutes, Viorel Stamatiu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ponoreni SC and the Ripensia UVT players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 21st match minute, Ponoreni SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Viorel Stamatiu to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Corbea in the 24th minute of play forced Ripensia UVT's goalkeeper Traian Nițisor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Ripensia UVT's goal looked a bit too open when Martin Corbea came free, but Traian Nițisor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mihai Isopescu took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Traian Nițisor. Traian Nițisor dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Martin Corbea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Traian Nițisor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Viorel Stamatiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 38th minute, Martin Corbea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Traian Nițisor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mihai Isopescu in the 41st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mihai Isopescu in the 42nd minute of play forced Ripensia UVT's goalkeeper Traian Nițisor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ripensia UVT's Traian Nițisor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silviu Onuț in the 46th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mihai Isopescu to make the kick off. After 60 minutes of play, Ponoreni SC's Leontin Ghiorman made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Traian Nițisor was left in no man's land by his defense there! Emanuel Şoimu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Traian Nițisor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 74 played minutes Ponoreni SC got a freekick which was hit by Stelian Zbârciog. 75 minutes into the match, Ripensia UVT's Victor Urdea broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Traian Nițisor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mihai Isopescu in the 78th minute of play. When Dinu Cercelescu fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ripensia UVT's protests and gave Dinu Cercelescu a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Ripensia UVT getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Dinu Cercelescu hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Martin Corbea managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ponoreni SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Martin Corbea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Traian Nițisor breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 85 minutes into the match, Mihai Isopescu dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Traian Nițisor, 0-4. 97 minutes into the game, Stelian Zbârciog was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ponoreni SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ripensia UVT the free kick. In the 97th minute, Stelian Zbârciog hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
