The supporters of Steaua LM booed when Sohodolu CSS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ştefan Grindeanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Steaua LM getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Tudor Ghercioiu hit a great ball. Claudiu Trifu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. But to his dismay, Claudiu Trifu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. When Ştefan Grindeanu fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sohodolu CSS's protests and gave Ştefan Grindeanu a yellow card for diving instead. In the 47th match minute, Sohodolu CSS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ştefan Grindeanu to maneuver through the defense. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

The wind increased when Silviu Roșeanu made the kick off in the second half. Pavel Braniște showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudiu Trifu in the 53rd minute of the match. Sohodolu CSS's supporters rose to their feet, but Claudiu Trifu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pavel Braniște breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 90 minutes, Claudiu Trifu put it in 1-6 from a short distance just to the right of Pavel Braniște. If Claudiu Trifu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 96 minutes into the game, Radu Roşoga cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-7. Pavel Braniște was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
