Spectators: 7269 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 1729, VIP seats: 40) FC Malina's Cosmin Rednic started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Costel Arseanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silviu Roșeanu in the 3rd minute of the match. Steaua LM's Pavel Braniște played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicodim Dumitrache in the 9th minute of play. 0-1 became the score in the 10th minute when Cosmin Rednic elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. When Octavian Braru fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Steaua LM's protests and gave Octavian Braru a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Steaua LM's Octavian Braru got a free kick in the 13th minute. In the 16th minute, Steaua LM's Silviu Roșeanu dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. After 20 played minutes FC Malina got a freekick which was hit by Nicodim Dumitrache. After recieving a nice pass, Steaua LM's Ciprian Zdrelea tried to score from far away in the 21st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Toader Jurca hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. FC Malina's Costel Arseanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silviu Roșeanu in the 29th minute of play. FC Malina's Horaţiu Brezoi got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Toader Jurca's late challenge caught a FC Malina's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Toader Jurca helped the player get up and apologised. In the 33rd match minute, Steaua LM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Toader Jurca to maneuver through the defense. The Steaua LM fans' excitement grew in the 39th match minute when Steaua LM's Silviu Roșeanu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After having played for 44 minutes, Horaţiu Brezoi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Malina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Horaţiu Brezoi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of FC Malina booed when Steaua LM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ciprian Zdrelea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cosmin Rednic received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Pavel Braniște tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Silviu Roșeanu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cosmin Rednic sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Horaţiu Brezoi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pavel Braniște having to interfere. In the 66th minute of the match, Cosmin Rednic tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Pavel Braniște saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cătălin Vlădean during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to FC Malina getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Cătălin Vlădean hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Silviu Roșeanu in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Costel Arseanu saved FC Malina from getting behind. If Horaţiu Brezoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 81st minute Silviu Roșeanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Costel Arseanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When FC Malina's Cosmin Rednic in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Steaua LM's goalie prevented a goal. Cosmin Rednic received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Pavel Braniște came out and tried to block the shot, but Cosmin Rednic slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 89th minute.
