Spectators: 6350 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1250, VIP seats: 100) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Ionică Stoiciu got the match started through his kick off. 3 minutes into the game, Cristi Pârlea was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Perisanii's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Oltul Rapid the free kick. The supporters of FC Oltul Rapid booed when Perisanii was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristi Pârlea didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to FC Oltul Rapid getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Gelu Prodan hit a great ball. FC Oltul Rapid's Ionică Stoiciu got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Costin Moise in the 20th minute of play forced FC Oltul Rapid's goalkeeper Octavian Latarețu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Horaţiu Râznicu scored 1-1 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Octavian Latarețu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Perisanii's Petru Macovei played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ionică Stoiciu in the 25th minute of play. 34 minutes into the match, FC Oltul Rapid's goal looked a bit too open when Costin Moise came free, but Octavian Latarețu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Costin Moise fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octavian Latarețu having to interfere. Horaţiu Râznicu struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Octavian Latarețu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Perisanii. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Ionică Stoiciu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Petru Macovei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ionică Stoiciu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Oltul Rapid's Octavian Latarețu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save FC Oltul Rapid from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Denis Sârbu in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Petru Macovei saved Perisanii from getting behind. If Horaţiu Râznicu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ionică Stoiciu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Denis Sârbu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Petru Macovei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Petru Macovei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ionică Stoiciu in the 80th minute of play. In the 81st match minute, Perisanii was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petru Macarie to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ionică Stoiciu in the 85th minute of play forced Perisanii's goalkeeper Petru Macovei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in FC Oltul Rapid's zone, Costin Moise stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Octavian Latarețu came out of the goal and Costin Moise tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 92nd minute Perisanii were awarded a corner. Emil Anghelescu went to the cornerflag to take it. Emil Anghelescu made a great header on Perisanii's corner, it was just that FC Oltul Rapid's Octavian Latarețu managed to reach the ball for a save. 94 minutes into the game, Horaţiu Râznicu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. In the 96th minute, Costin Moise ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Octavian Latarețu was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. The Perisanii supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Perisanii would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
