Spectators: 7532 (Terracing: 5650, Seating: 1732, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ştefan Popan started the match with the kick off. Pavel Bulzan charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pavel Bulzan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Moise Ghionea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pompiliu Spiridon's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. Gigi Mazăre charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gigi Mazăre the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gigi Mazăre kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pompiliu Spiridon in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Moise Ghionea prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dinu Morovan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Moise Ghionea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 26thth minute of the game Pompiliu Spiridon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Caraaci FC's Moise Ghionea was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 34 minutes, Pompiliu Spiridon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the F.C. SOFYA and the Caraaci FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 34 played minutes F.C. SOFYA got a freekick which was hit by Pompiliu Spiridon. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Matei Mitescu during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Caraaci FC booed when F.C. SOFYA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matei Mitescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 37 played minutes, Caraaci FC's Gigi Mazăre shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ciprian Burtescu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Caraaci FC reached it. In the 48th minute, Gigi Mazăre got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Pompiliu Spiridon made the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Caraaci FC's goal looked a bit too open when Pompiliu Spiridon came free, but Moise Ghionea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Pompiliu Spiridon came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the F.C. SOFYA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pompiliu Spiridon couldn't finish the play. Moise Ghionea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pompiliu Spiridon in the 75th minute of the match. The supporters of F.C. SOFYA booed when Caraaci FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petrică Fecioru didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pompiliu Spiridon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Moise Ghionea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pompiliu Spiridon in the 83rd minute of play forced Caraaci FC's goalkeeper Moise Ghionea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gigi Mazăre was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 88th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If Pompiliu Spiridon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dinu Morovan struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Moise Ghionea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for F.C. SOFYA. After having played for 96 minutes, Marin Cinteză managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. F.C. SOFYA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marin Cinteză was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The F.C. SOFYA supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing F.C. SOFYA would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
