When Rareș Lepuș came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the F.C.Olympique de Bucarest fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rareș Lepuș couldn't finish the play. Milan's Leontin Buznea proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Milan from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Milan's Leontin Buznea got control of the ball when Fabian Tender tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fabian Tender received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Leontin Buznea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 16th match minute, F.C.Olympique de Bucarest was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ionică Coșmeanu to maneuver through the defense. Fabian Craia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nistor Hațegan in the 18th minute of play. Leontin Iovulescu made in the 20th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Milan's Cristinel Jula. Milan's Cezar Berceanu quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Mădălin Avarvarei, made in the 22nd minute of the game. Leontin Buznea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fabian Tender in the 26th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nistor Hațegan in the 30th minute of play forced F.C.Olympique de Bucarest's goalkeeper Fabian Craia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristinel Jula hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Fabian Craia came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Milan's Cristinel Jula. But to his dismay, Cristinel Jula quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Moise Militaru struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Fabian Craia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Milan. Thanks to some nice moves Fabian Tender could shoot a difficult shot in the 46th minute, which Leontin Buznea however easily saved by the left post. The F.C.Olympique de Bucarest players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Milan were winning 0-1.

Fabian Craia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristinel Jula went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Petruț Chirea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 75th minute, Petruț Chirea got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 76 minutes, Cristinel Jula managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Milan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristinel Jula was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in F.C.Olympique de Bucarest's zone, Cristinel Jula stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabian Craia came out of the goal and Cristinel Jula tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nistor Hațegan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabian Craia having to interfere. In the 86th minute Fabian Tender shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leontin Buznea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Fabian Tender came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the F.C.Olympique de Bucarest fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabian Tender couldn't finish the play. 93 minutes into the match, Rareș Lepuș had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Leontin Buznea. Milan's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rareș Lepuș was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Milan were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
