The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 8 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Sepcile Rosii Cluj-Napoca! Alexandru Lucrețiu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Octav Gherguț, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Octav Gherguț managed to get in a good position for a shot. Olesti's supporters rose to their feet, but Octav Gherguț was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alexandru Lucrețiu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 16 minutes into the match, Sepcile Rosii Cluj-Napoca's goal looked a bit too open when Octav Gherguț came free, but Alexandru Lucrețiu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Iacob Constantinescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vali Andrițoiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Petruț Stănculescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Iacob Constantinescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Petruț Stănculescu having to interfere. If Octav Gherguț had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Petruț Stănculescu made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Iacob Constantinescu sent off a good shot on target. Iacob Constantinescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Petruț Stănculescu made a huge save. Vali Andrițoiu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Olesti's Petruț Stănculescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vali Andrițoiu in the 36th minute of play. If Vali Andrițoiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vali Andrițoiu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vali Andrițoiu in the 52nd minute of play forced Olesti's goalkeeper Petruț Stănculescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 59th match minute, Sepcile Rosii Cluj-Napoca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emanuel Răduțu to maneuver through the defense. Petruț Stănculescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vali Andrițoiu in the 66th minute of the match. 68 minutes into the match, Sepcile Rosii Cluj-Napoca's goal looked a bit too open when Octav Gherguț came free, but Alexandru Lucrețiu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 70 minutes into the match, Vali Andrițoiu notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Olesti's Petruț Stănculescu. Petruț Stănculescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 73rd minute of the match, Doru Gioagă tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Alexandru Lucrețiu saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Olesti's Petruț Stănculescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vali Andrițoiu in the 79th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vali Andrițoiu in the 81st minute of play forced Olesti's goalkeeper Petruț Stănculescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cătălin Dindelegan's late challenge caught a Sepcile Rosii Cluj-Napoca's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cătălin Dindelegan helped the player get up and apologised. Cătălin Dindelegan hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eugen Dănălache in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Petruț Stănculescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 90 played minutes Olesti got a freekick which was hit by Iulian Senin. In the 92nd minute Vali Andrițoiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petruț Stănculescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Petruț Stănculescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iacob Constantinescu in the 97th minute of play. Sepcile Rosii Cluj-Napoca's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
