Marceni CSM's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Los Pollos Hermanos ★DAC★ the free kick. Dorin Jianu kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. In the 41st minute, Gigel Vintilescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Gigi Manciulea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cezar Baciu made a fantastic save in the 48th minute, when Gigel Vintilescu sent off a good shot on target. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Damian Dima to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Marceni CSM's goal looked a bit too open when Gigel Vintilescu came free, but Cezar Baciu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 55 minutes into the match, Gigel Vintilescu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cezar Baciu. Marceni CSM's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gigel Vintilescu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Marin Ponta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Manuel Preda made a huge save. Manuel Preda made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marin Ponta in the 72nd minute. If Vintilă Atanasiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. Costel Arjoca charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Vintilă Atanasiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Preda having to interfere. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
