Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Petre Păltineanu made the kick off and thus started the match. Ciceul's Petru Arapașu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Panait Ştirbu in the 4th minute of play. When Laurențiu Nae fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ciceul's protests and gave Laurențiu Nae a yellow card for diving instead. Cosmin Valerian was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 7th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Aurel Oancea struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Eliodor Ficsinescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ciceul. Nicolae Ghizdeanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 18 minutes, Ciprian Petru mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ciceul and the Mehadia CS players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 18th minute of the game. One of Ciceul:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mehadia CS:s goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Petre Păltineanu in the 24th minute of play forced Mehadia CS's goalkeeper Eliodor Ficsinescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eliodor Ficsinescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aurel Oancea in the 26th minute of the match. Eliodor Ficsinescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Petre Păltineanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Aurel Oancea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Eliodor Ficsinescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Petre Păltineanu came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Ciceul fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Petre Păltineanu couldn't finish the play. Aurel Oancea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Petre Păltineanu scored 1-1 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eliodor Ficsinescu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Panait Ştirbu might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Petru Arapașu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Panait Ştirbu ran back to his position shaking his head. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

After a defensive mix-up in Mehadia CS's zone, Petre Păltineanu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eliodor Ficsinescu came out of the goal and Petre Păltineanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 59 minutes, Aurel Oancea managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ciceul's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aurel Oancea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Laurențiu Nae was shown his second yellow card after 62 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Laurențiu Nae hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Petru Arapașu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nicolae Ghizdeanu went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Nicolae Ghizdeanu might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Petru Arapașu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nicolae Ghizdeanu ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Gelu Bârsan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ciceul's supporters rose to their feet, but Gelu Bârsan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eliodor Ficsinescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 87th minute, Panait Ştirbu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cătălin Popean, 88 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicolae Ghizdeanu in the 92nd minute of play forced Ciceul's goalkeeper Petru Arapașu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 92nd minute, Iustin Cândreanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Petru Arapașu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicolae Ghizdeanu in the 94th minute of the match. Mehadia CS's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
