Valentin Petrescu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Ilie Nenițescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Lăzărescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Iulian Şoltuz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Lăzărescu in the 29th minute of play forced F.C. Câmpina's goalkeeper Ilie Nenițescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute Iulian Şoltuz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ilie Nenițescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Câmpina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ionică Pascaru to maneuver through the defense. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Liviu Hurezeanu to make the kick off. Ilie Nenițescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Lăzărescu in the 57th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in F.C. Câmpina's zone, Felix Lăzărescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ilie Nenițescu came out of the goal and Felix Lăzărescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 60 minutes into the game, Dragoş Stanomir was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. F.C. Câmpina's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Glimbocelu the free kick. Dragoş Stanomir hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Filip Istodor hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Glimbocelu's Remus Șofran tried to score from far away in the 63rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After 66 played minutes Felix Lăzărescu rounded F.C. Câmpina's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-2. Felix Lăzărescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Ilie Nenițescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 73 minutes, Cornel Gheorghiță managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Glimbocelu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cornel Gheorghiță was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Glimbocelu's zone, Liviu Hurezeanu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristinel Zgabei came out of the goal and Liviu Hurezeanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Felix Lăzărescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ilie Nenițescu having to interfere. When Iulian Şoltuz came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Glimbocelu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iulian Şoltuz couldn't finish the play. Iulian Şoltuz struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Ilie Nenițescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Glimbocelu. Ilie Nenițescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Lăzărescu in the 91st minute of play. Glimbocelu's Cristinel Zgabei played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mugurel Barascu in the 96th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Glimbocelu eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
